Since 1994, ABIC Testing Laboratories, a subsidiary of ABIC International Consultants, has been the only DOT-approved contractor providing brake fluid testing services to U.S. and international clients. We are certified by the Automotive Manufacturer Equipment Compliance Agency (AMECA), and our staff serves on the board of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Brake Fluids Standards committee.

OUR STORY

For over 40 years, we have provided technical services to the automotive industry, the U.S. government, local and international clients. Our staff members started testing brake fluid in 1964.

In 1968 our staff worked directly with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) on the development of the original FMVSS-116 method, which was later published in 1972. That was the first year FMVSS 116 standard was required on all brake fluid sold in the U.S. This standard is still required on all brake fluid. Since 1980, we have worked with the DOT continuously on testing brake fluid.

Leonard Mackowiak, Vice President of ABIC Testing Laboratories, was a vice-chairman of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Brake Fluid Standards Committee.

Our company was contracted and developed a standard brake fluid for the U.S. Army.
